SECURITY NOTICE

We are aware that a criminal element has been using the corporate identity of City Capital London LLP in a fraudulent manner, contacting individuals and claiming to be executors of a considerable estate of which the recipient is purported to be the beneficiary.  There is then a request for fees in advance of making payouts of large sums of money.

Please be aware that this is exactly the same type of scam that has originated in Nigeria ca. 2001 and has been around for years: examples of these types of operations have been well documented in the press.

City Capital London LLP is a finance broker and does not deal with people's estates or inheritances. We will never ask for sums of money in advance and only deal in person with our clients within the UK. All deposits are payable directly to the UK lenders we work with.

We have reported the misuse of our identity to Scotland Yard Fraud Office, who are currently investigating all incidents. No employees of City Capital, current or previous, have any involvement with this scam.

We would expect that common sense would prevail and that anyone receiving one of these bogus communications would see it for what it is, and not seriously entertain sending cash in expectation of receiving a legacy from a rich relative they had no previous awareness of.  This is not how the legal profession operates in these matters.

However, if you are in receipt of a request of this nature please do not respond.  Instead, we would appreciate if you would notify us by calling 0207 404 4114 and providing as many details as possible, and we will inform the Fraud Office at Scotland Yard.  Please also forward any emails, and keep any hardcopy in safekeeping for forensic examination.
